Addictive Full Moon Feb. 19-25

The light of this Virgo/Pisces Full Moon on 2~22 provides those of us with addictive personalities an opportunity to recalibrate efforts of releasing its dark hold. I assume that all of us, in one form or another, deal with addiction. Some are simply more socially acceptable than others. As in those who work too much, give too much, or know everything usually find sympatico applause for the addiction. Those of us who eat too much, never mind the drugs and drink, and whine, exploit, or endlessly resent are secretly castigated. This may be a Moon that sheds light on how we might balance and heal those sad and sorry issues.

The Virgo Moon reminds us to use our bodies in service to growing greater consciousness, especially those of us fortunate enough to have a Yoga Practice.   Standing the mat brings a strong realization that the body is a form of spirit that the Practice unifies into a force field with the mind and body to hold more light. The Sun in Pisces, nestling into its ruler, Neptune, makes for very strong emotional currents swirling the ego and identity. Are we fish or foul? Are we discerning or critical? Are we victim or leader? In order to choose, we must first see, and in order to see, we must let go of judgment, we must first be kind. Pisces compassion is a way in. Virgo habits are a path out.

Each time we soften the inner critic and hear empowering whispers from those who love and support us, we are moved to reveal and become more of who we wish to be. Marianne Williamson reminded us long ago that, “Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn……..To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life.” Take a few moments in these coming days to prepare for the Full Moon whose light holds an unexpected gift.
