Look Homeward, Angels       Nov.28-Dec. 5

The title,“Look Homeward Angel,” has been taken, but it’s a good dictate to follow this week.  (If you haven’t read Thomas Wolf’s 1929 novel, find it, dust it off, and reconsider his beautifully written ‘backward,’ inner journey.)  On some level, we are looking ‘homeward,’ inward, backward and forward; toward the next family holiday, the closure of a difficult year, the birthing a new one. Take time to write your secret biography of what happened in 2017.  We cannot move forward correctly if we don’t know how we botched the past. If ever there was a time to slow and reconsider, it’s now. We have help, including the light of a Full Moon, the Station of Mercury, and yet another Uranus shock.

It’s been a complicated, confusing year.  We learned a lot about relationships, commitment, disappointment, lies and anger. The Universe is coming to our aid with an expansively forward planning, Sagittarian week to open our eyes and see a forest of visionary hope. The Full Moon in Gemini/Sagittarius explodes with ideas and questions. It will answer some in its greater, ‘ahaa light’ over the weekend, but will delay others until we have ‘re-thunk’ them. The Super Moon’s beauty is ruled by Mercury, turning Stationary Retrograde, on the day of fullness. That’s a WOW!  There is also another of those “WHAT?” Uranian bolts on Friday-Saturday that create the un-expected, the synchronistic big surprises. We are going. We are returning. We are future explorers.  We are purveyors of the past. We are shape-shifters in consciousness, we are emotional beasts hoping to hone a kinder reality, from fury and frustration.

This week jumps with Saturn and Mercury in the same degree as the Galactic Center, GC.  If you recall, last week I wrote of Saturn being at 27 degrees of Sag, a degree that releases old curses, and bad habits, then opens possibility to move forward with less weight of the past. If you have been actively working this conduit, expect to manifest a new ‘angelic perspective.’ The Mercury-Saturn alignment brings structure, clarity, and yes, pessimism into Mercury’s Retrograde event. This serious alignment reflects 2017’s review, but may offer gravitas and grit for 2018.

Use the power-packed Gemini/Sagittarius Super Full Moon to howl, knowing we shall all be overly sensitive, rambunctious, challenged, disillusioned, truth seeking, and confused.  Use the upcoming three week’s of Mercury’s Retrograde to revise, and review, to dig deeper, discovering hidden gold within.

This Week’s Birthdays: Saturn has been pressing down on your Sagittarian ebullience a bit, but also preparing you for new life, one incorporating greater purpose, with a spiritual chaser. The Super Full Moon will ramp up issues of relationship and partnership.  This offers a greater understanding of past experience, and deepens your emotional IQ.  Before  moving forward into the ‘new you,’ take serious time out for review, so that your insight opens at higher levels.  Expect surprises, and a bit of mayhem, but heart-light to see you home, angel.

Astrological consultation:   This fall of endings, with preparation of  timely beginnings, is a perfect moment  to look at one’s life from an objective, non-judgmental point of view.  Consultations ask: How do you wish to use your inherent genius, and compassionate awareness?  How to understand and surrender to the healing in front of you.  Tools are offered to see where your future beckons and how to best arrive there.  Email  samcatcam@gmail.com

On the Mat This Week: Be happy, be Yang, be light-filled!  Make choices on the mat that support your daily needs.  Stay mindful of the power of connecting breath to movement, and emotion to mind.  It always boils down to choosing in each moment how you wish to be.  Don’t give the bad guys power over you to be upset.  Stand on your head, or hang off the bed for a different POV.  This is the true power of a Practice.
