New Moon & Mercury Retrograde

January 14-22

This is a time of endings and beginnings; of possible loss and gain; of moving forward while in review.  This week’s third quarter Moon closing toward the Aquarius New Moon on Tues. Jan. 20, has notable stress marks between Sun and Moon, so it’s no wonder bodies are tired and discombobulated. The command might be: find your motivation, get ready, stop, hold your breath, sidestep the potholes, now leap.  And god help your original intention as you.  The key is to learn something un-expected from having to go off course, and to use the creative energies that arise with a shift in awareness accompanying each 3rd quarter phase, and lying within the dynamics of stress.

A cosmic prerogative is to use the confusion, loss, frustration, and hold-ups as mulch for your spirit.  The cosmos has been asking all of us to grow into ‘Spiritual Warriors’ as we work to change our lives, and shift old world paradigms to accept greater social stewardship.  With Mercury standing still at 17 degrees Aquarius on the 21st, it’s retrograde energy is inextricably woven into that of the New Moon.  What have we missed, or mis-aligned that needs healing and repair?  What holds us back from expressing our genius?  Because Mercury will spend double its usual time in Aquarius, let it inform you of your goals, the heart’s desire, as well as the groups you wish to align with, and the iconoclastic possibilities.  Think outside the box!

In preparing for your next leap, along with all the detours, consider using a daily Pranayama practice of Kapalabhati, or ‘Skull Shining Breath.’  If you are not familiar with this, for basic how-to go to: http://www.yogajournal.com/pose/skull-shining-breath/.  Kapalabhati changes and charges the electro-magnetic field, improves blood circulation, especially to the brain and the digestive system, clearing toxins and moving out old, decaying gunk.   It tones muscles in the abdomen, and may help burn fat. It has been used to treat diabetes. It focuses energy in the 6th chakra, our internal GPS. It improves lung capacity, helping with asthma, and bronchitis.  It refreshes mind/body systems, therefore recharging energy levels.

That is a lot of healing for spending 5-10 minutes in conscious breathing!  (Check with your doctor if you are pregnant, suffer from hypertension, or become overly dizzy.)

Class energies will dance to the dark music of this powerful New Moon, which means they will be an unusual amalgam of strong Kryias to great music, healing what ails, especially old wounds of the past~along with silence and stillness, Pranayama, and time to dedicate new seeds into our soul mulch for upcoming cycle.
