• During the ‘Eclipse season,’ open doors to reconfigure your life. Accept energetic invitations to grow mindful awareness, and clarify emotions that re-design, and support insightful calm. Listen to the direction calling you.
• Where were you? How were you in 1999?  Noticed any energetic mirrors of what is up for you now, connected to choices made 19 years ago?  Has your field of choice expanded? Where to now?
• Mars is ‘out of bounds.’ What this means is that the planet in charge of anger, energy, commitment, bravery, and physical ability is wilder, more innovative, volatile, and unpredictable than usual.
• Take summer’s lead. If you’ve cleaned out your Eclipse closets, you may be best served by stepping back to contemplate what’s been revealed, and taking a deep breath before the upcoming Eclipse, July 27. (This is a total Lunar Eclipse when the Moon will spend more time in the Earth’s shadow than at any other time in the 21^st century!)

THE STORY

Eclipses’ are potent because Sun, Moon and earth line up more closely, thus forcing cosmic transmissions to intensify and focus. The electromagnetic field, tides, and tectonic plates of earth, along with individual bodies are reconfigured, and rendered ‘opportunistic’ for new thought-forms, and shifts   of awareness to nurture essence. Spiritual practices around the globe are more focused during ‘Eclipse Season’ as prayers and intention are readily relayed.  This was particularly true as Pluto, lord of transformation, faced the New Moon rebirth in Cancer, as well as making a rare ‘nodal alignment,’ which brings up life-path issues that are often karmic.

The Moon, and the sign she rules, Cancer, are big players in both these Eclipses.  Cancer is the sign of emotional watery tides. It is also the signature of developing Emotional Intelligence/EI. If you feel you are strapped into an ebullient, tragic, shocking, delicious, sickening roller coaster, then you are on the right track.  If it has become too intense, seek solace near water, with nature, among the family, or tribe that understand you. See whatever is offered as a gift.  If it’s joy, share your overflowing heart.  If adversity pulls you down, remember the opportunity it provides to grow courage and resilience, empathy and faith.  In short, pay attention to the information stored in your emotional body.  Cancer is a highly intuitive sign.  Listen to your gut.  Don’t ignore the fact you are over eating, hiding out to watch hours of TV, giving away your power by working 70 hours a week.  These are signs the emotional baggage has grown too heavy and needs disgorging. It’s time to discover what we truly hunger for.

To support courage and commitment in moving out from difficult situations, or getting you into one, Mars is our man of the hour!  Not only is he out of bounds, (meaning any time a planet is outside the plane of the ecliptic- the path followed by the earth and planets as they orbit the sun,) he is closest to earth he has been since 2003.  You can easily see his bright red star in the night sky.  His overriding, innovative, unpredictable, bold hold on our actions can either kick us toward salvation, or get us in the hottest water we’ve ever known.  We have less control over anger, especially if it’s been suppressed. What the Eclipses reveal, Mars may heal, or destroy.  Since it is a major player in the upcoming Eclipse, we need to use his high-octane fuel, not be used by it.  Be proactive with physical practices, speaking up before anger erupts, and grow greater civility in general.  The world desperately needs that more than ever. Find ways and means to use the positive power of Mars, for there is a lot of it!!  Commit to your heart’s desire and follow through.

THIS WEEK’S BIRTHDAYS:  “It’s a hot time in the old town tonight,” and for you adventurous ones, it will be all year. Having been through a tumultuous year, I can hear you groaning as you read this.  But take heart, for you are clearly in the process of becoming a master at something.  Make it something wonderful!  Take fear by the throat and shake it out.  Commit to your very best self, your self of unique genius and beauty.  Believe in it, and cut the shackles of old habits. Be a wild-child!  Be the child you choose, the one you love and support.
