Past/Present/Future   Sept 25- Oct. 2

One of the profound gifts of Astrology is that it shows coordinates of where we have been, offers insight to understand the present, and foretells energies of the future. If we are wise, we assimilate and integrate the past, then apply its lessons to the upcoming journey. This week, we continue moving out from under the strong Virgo influence of the New Moon, on Sept. 19, the Libra Equinox of Sept 22, plus the last opposition of Jupiter and Uranus. These two have led society a merrie chase since last Dec.

What have we learned? Who are we? Where shall we go? This third pass of the Jupiter/Uranus opposition culminates this week. Among other things, it has given us a year of ‘political education.’ Jupiter in Libra speaks of the importance of legal, judiciary systems, and diplomacy. Uranus, the rebellious bad boy, yanks us out of comfort zones to expand awareness in order to change the status quo. When these two polemics face off, we have social mayhem. Have you noticed?

Another ‘outer,’ or social influence this week is Pluto’s Station on the 29th. Pluto makes long, deep journeys, ultimately changing core values. During its many years in Capricorn it has been, and will be uncovering the worst excesses of big business, often with its unsavory ties to politics and government. It has been Retrograde since April, and part of what we have unconsciously struggled with are issues of power, control, and the drives that motivate us. Pluto is our galaxy’s deep-diver, uncovering hidden underbellies of desire and over-weening power. Remember that whenever a planet ‘Stations,’ either to move forward or back, its energies are amplified. Expect more secrets to be revealed. Know that legal issues continue to expose Trump’s financial ties. Take time this week to visualize US diplomacy at its best with N. Korea. Be part of the light-force across the nation prevailing for peace.

“What about me?” you ask. What energies may affect my personal life? Venus, and Mars oppose Neptune, planet of magic, dreams, loss, imagination, addictions, and oneness. This can be a highly creative time, if you can see your way clear. It can be disappointing if you are projecting perfection. Mars and Venus are sexy, and with Neptune, can create lovely dialogue, enabling us to hold hands and cross the street together. Be with people, and in places that nourish you as boundaries porous. Turn from the tech toward the trees.

With the Sun now in Libra, and Mercury moving into her balancing arms on the 30th, we are less interested in picky critique, and called to explore graceful, strategic balancing acts. If we use the past in order to move forward more easily, we will make positive use of the critique and refinement worked on during Virgo’s reign. In better order to withstand present social mayhem, look back and see how you survived to make informed choices. Seriously think about how you want this country, our world, to continue. Like the foot ball teams, let us kneel, link arms, and hold our hearts in solidarity for what is right. “No surrender!”

Your Birthday Week: You may surprise yourself, committing to a path that supports a cause. Your inner life and outer commitments become integrated in surprising ways. Not only will you engage more creatively throughout the year, but these efforts reveal your deeper heart, and your activism through spirit rises. In order for this higher level of awareness to prevail, take time in nature. Make quiet moments a priority throughout your day in order to come home to self and re-assess….. Virgo habits with Neptune’s influence. This is your year to BE the power you wish to see in the world.

Astrological consultation:   See your life from an objective, non-judgmental point of view. Understand and accept present difficulties, as well as the healing journey ahead. Commit to yourself, and begin creating your abundant future.     Email  samcatcam@gmail.com

Mat Practices: Begin practices this week with a Pranayama of deep, even inhale / exhale, holding a long kumbhak, the space between, as long as is comfortable. The attention to beginning in peaceful balance sets the template for all else to follow. Using Virgo discrimination, create Asanas with discrimination, balancing on either leg an equal amount of time. Divide sitting with standing, stomach to back, up side down to right side up, all with the intention of a centered ease of grace and balance. Sometimes it’s great to have one overwhelming focus and drive to a difficult end-pose, but this week see if it is more satisfying to do this, then that, be here, then there, and feel how the pose-polarities support you in finding a deep, inner balance so you can then go out and enter the world’s mayhem, not adding to its chaos, rather healing what ails it.
