We have an extra-ordinary Moon arriving the 31st. This is a perfect preparation week for ‘Super Blue Blood Moon, last viewed in 1866. It is ‘Super’ because it is at perigee, its closest approach to earth. It will appear 14 per cent larger, and 30 percent brighter. It is Blue because it is the second Full Moon falling within the month. This Full Moon is also a total Lunar Eclipse, first Eclipse of 2018. The reddish coloration of the Moon comes from sunlight refracted through the earth’s atmosphere, which creates a ‘blood Moon.’ Unfortunately, you will have to be in Australia, New Zealand, central, or eastern Asia, or Indonesia in order to see the Eclipse. A glimpse may be visible from Alaska and Hawaii. But….we will all sway under it’s energetic effect!
Eclipses align Sun, Earth, and Moon, with the Moon in Earth’s shadow. Despite that upcoming alignment, and the past alignment of Capricorn planets, we continue branching out into dysfunctional direction at every turn. There is illusion and confusion, thanks to Neptune. There is rebellion, thanks to Uranus. Planetary forces are raining down gifts for 2018’s Astrological agenda. It is committed to moving us into building deeper ethical character, with commitment to care wisely for one another. We are being goaded to do better by living with what is wrong. The prod pushes us toward the life we wish, because we see we can no longer life this way.
We may hear louder clarion calls towards revolutionary changes this week. The Sun is now in Aquarius, the air infused ‘Water-Bearer.’ He’s brought Venus with him. Aquarius is an energetic signature for thinking outside the norm, therefore a proponent of social change, and ideological shifts, individually and collectively. You may be feeling restless with winter-longing for adventure. Your mantra might be, “Don’t fence me in.”
Whatever changes you contemplate, they are empowered by deep thinking as Mercury aligns with Pluto in Capricorn. It’s short-lived so take advantage these few ferocious days when ideas are penetrating, sharp-focused, and desire-driven. Be aware of taking another kind of advantage, which is power over another. This also is a Plutonian possibility, along with a stubborn jaw set in intractable opinion. Will is wonderful! But be clear and careful about the willful territory.
The upcoming seven weeks will be enlivened and ‘enlightened’ by Mars moving through fiery Sagittarius. This definitely blows out winter blahs. You may feel inspired, optimistic, and more willing to risk. You may also swerve off the beaten track into over-excited mayhem. This Eclipse is a mate, or book-end to the Great American Eclipse of last August 21. Both have Leo’s fiery signature, radiating heart-energy, influencing creativity, child like joy, and lessons on how to wear a crown. Issues that arose from the August Eclipse are re-surfacing in some form. You come to understand developments seeded at that time. It is a hot time in the ol’ town, so best get those dancing shoes on and hop to it! See you on the floor.
On The Mat: In taking charge of a new year, new ‘livelihood,’ we contemplate how to validate who and how we are. On the mat, we consciously, or unconsciously, put it to the test. The Practice this week will focus on pushing old boundaries, and fearful thought patterns of, “I could never do that.” Our will is in service to trying something new, to testing strength, and expanding flexibility-both body and brain. Mars rules the physical body, as well as commitment. We use his fiery enthusiasm to heat body and soul with a more joyous, enthusiastic resonance. Don’t be shy. Shine your light, create your own mantra, and then share it without fear. The force is with you!!

The world is in need of you as a well thought out ‘change agent,’ The Aquarian-agenda this week, promotes a greater sense of self, with moments of profound thinking, and communication. Harnessing brain and body with greater commitment, you have as good a chance as any to see that what you have struggled with, come to fruition.
