Sacred Times, Sacred Action August 12-18

THEMES                                                                                                                                                      Eclipse fall out: During the power outage, new trajectory, change of heart, and surprising revelations emerge.

  • In the aftermath: The power surge brings new instruction and meaning.

THE STORY                                                                                                                                             Now we are through the ‘Eclipse Vortex,’ which is the time between the first Eclipse to the last, the light of new direction will begin to emerge. The ‘vortex’ began with a Solar Eclipse in Cancer, July 12, travelled down an emotional road to the next one on July 27, a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius/Leo, then completed the journey yesterday, with the New Moon Eclipse in Leo. This has been an unusually long, tortuous, hot, and held back vortex. There were three eclipses, not the usual two, and they were on a large retrograde playing field, particularly this last one. The retrograde energy is holding back the power surge, making fire, foment and frustration still the story. Unless you were one of the lucky ones whose hearts were overcome with loving connections, and joyous abundance.

Eclipses are not just of the day. They create a liminal world, potent before, during and after. The literal alignment of Sun, Moon, and nodes turns our attention to a path of destiny. With Sun and Moon in Leo, this last Eclipse calls all of us to be bold, brave, joyous and heart-centric. What keeps us from that destiny? The north node remains in leo until November, giving us time to fill these ‘heart-stopping shoes.’ This liminal world is a space when the veil between conscious and subconscious is thin, allowing repressed fears and old regret to rise up for resolution and healing. We often find ourselves unexpectedly heading into new territory, relinquishing the comfort of the known. Experiences with far reaching effects and profound consequences are often given birth under Eclipse disruptions. Listen to your dreams!

In a Lunar Eclipse, the Suns rays are blocked by the Moon, therefore the Sun, the image of ourselves in the world, our vitality, radiance and confidence are dimmed. This ‘power outage’ is followed by a power surge. It is in the power surge, when the light goes back on, that we begin to see new meaning. Sometimes it’s subtle, but when it hits a natal planet, it can be a mule kick, of hilarity and/or horror.

This is an important time, with far reaching consequences, especially with many planets retrograde. This forces confrontation with the past. Eclipses clear out closets. Open your Pandora’s Box. Be resolute in moving on and up without fear. Dream and meditate, swim and sway. In other words, put yourself in a receptive state to receive a deeper sense of knowing. Tibetan Buddhists honored Eclipse times as sacred. They saw that the effects of any actions during these times were multiplied, and that whatever we do, or say, or think, or feel leaves a deeper imprint, a soul mark. This is with us until the next Eclipse season, six months from now…. And, or all the rest of our lives.

YOUR BIRTHDAY ENERGIES: Last week’s instructions remain true and good:Read the above again. Redo your play list. Re- think your prerogatives. The inner drive, if uncertain, gives you a powerful platform from which to leverage everyday decisions and habits toward a higher consciousness. With a New Moon Eclipse culminating at week’s end, along with Uranus turning Retrograde, expect the un-expected! Be as wacky as you wish, and shine a new light from within. I, for one, will expect to see you as a headliner!” I will also add, that you have this amazing opportunity to shift your life course, if you wish. With Mercury, Sun and Moon as the ‘Finger of God’ focus in a Yod, listen to your intuition, call your spirit to speak louder, and open your heart from its deepest root. You call it, and it will come!

YOUR PRACTICE THIS WEEK: Move your Practice from an inner sacred space. Find ways to honor and open your heart. Do it physically in Matsyasana/Fish Pose, or Wheel. Do it through meditation and mantra. Feed yourself from the fire of who and what you love. Follow last week’s instructions- again: “Be in nature. Breathe in green space to counterbalance the chaos. Move from Sun Salutations to Lunars, listening to inner directives. Be your own weird and wild teacher. Do no harm, but step outside old boundaries, and structures. As always, call the Practice as guide and conduit to a new vibrant richness!”

Astrological Consultations:   It’s always a good time to look at one’s life from an objective, non-judgmental ‘soul point of view.’ This is especially helpful when dust flies and the future looks unfamiliar. If you are asking, “What is my genius, and how do I wish to use it?  How can I move deeply into my healing? When do I make moves for success?”  Then let us swim in your life together, in wonderful discovery.  Email  samcatcam@gmail.com
