The Aftermath Sept 12-20

The world has been awash, trembling, and on fire in the aftermath of eclipse energies. It almost feels like Armageddon. The American eclipse on August 21, at 29 degrees of Leo asked; how can we love? How can we open to greater light? What can we create with that light? It seems we are to re-create our love and appreciation of Gaia. We are to care for one another, sharing more generously with what we have and who we are. As we begin clean up in the aftermath of many world-wide massively destructive events, we require a new structure and an inner stand-up courage. It’s a good thing Saturn is prominent this week, along with Virgo ‘s practical-eye.

Like all the planets, Saturn has double edges. They may be more noticeable than most because he is a taskmaster, bringing the hard lessons. He urges taking on greater responsibility, as well as understanding precise, practical boundaries. He rules the skeletal system, and teeth, thus forcing us to stand tall and sink our teeth into life. Tough as he can be, without that backbone, we’d flop around as ooze. Tues. through Thurs, he is waltzing with Venus, offering opportunity to see a new reality in relationships, along with who and what is of true value. Wed. 13, He makes his semi annual square to the Sun, asking if structures are well placed; is there a balance to responsibilities and work; and order to our days? If we swim in a sea of chaos, then Saturn is a life-saver. If we are too rigid, and over programmed for success, then he needs reigning in.

Adding to Saturn’s grounding talents, we have three Virgo planets this week; Sun, Mercury and Mars. Next week, Venus joins in to make it four. Consider the art of ‘refining’, rather than critiquing. Consider order instead of chaos. To that end, pay attention Saturday when Mercury conjuncts Mars for a third time since the end of June. These two can be inflammatory, not only making careless words sting, but a tendency to act defensively…. soundings from the bully pulpit. Let’s hope that with the third pass, we are more grown up.

Mat Practice this week: Just as the earth has been on fire or awash, so have been bodies. I know many of you have felt more tired, due to Neptune’s strong influence last week. This week, we won’t be so tired, unless you live in Texas or Florida, and can call your body back into alignment, re-dedicating your practice to practical matters of sinew and bone, progress, and pacing….all Saturn gifts. Use your Virgo-eye, and we all have one, to refine and hone what feels wobbly and out of balance. Mix the fluidity of breath, and sequencing with secure bones of alignment.

Wed 13: Classes 5:15, level I-II, and 7 P.M.~level II-III- at Laughing Dog.

Sat. 16:   RSVP to samcatcam@gmail.com for limited 8:30 and 10 AM places. 1 Edson rd….until we find a new studio.

This Week’s Birthday-Bodies: Do you like the idea of honing in on essentials? I thought you might. The steady, if perhaps un-relenting pace of year will be helpful in accomplishing long-held goals and dreams. You will bring what was dreamy and inspirational down to earth, producing and actualizing. Yes, you may have greater responsibilities, but your goals and career projects grow successful, and there is great joy in that. Be of good faith, dear Virgo friends, me thinks you inspire the rest of us with your exquisitely refined dedication.
