THE SACRED NOW   Nov. 4-11

THEMES

·      We are under planetary alignments of chaos, creativity, awakening, re-envisioning, and reforming. Relationships are particularly under fire. Constructive AND destructive intensity is in play. Mind yer P’s & Q’s!

·      Moving from Halloween, All Saints and Samhain, (the ancient Celtic harvest festival, and cross quarter day between Autumn Equinox and Winder Solstice,) we enter the dark days where the mystery of light grows from within.

·      Pay attention to your power outages, conflict and boundaries. It is a time to cultivate patience, courage and kindness.

·      In the Northern hemisphere, we are in a liminal time when the veils between worlds are thin, calling for introspection and intuition to keep eyes wide open.

THE STORY                                                                                                                        With the last Mercury Retrograde of this decade, we are consciously and unconsciously retracing and reviewing the year, if not the past ten. The pervasive Scorpio influence of mystery and deep emotion pushes us to look under rocks, confront our mortality, and evaluate goals and strategies. Death can be a wonderful tool of awakening….What do you wish to create with this beautiful, difficult, sad, amazing incarnation? We may or may not have multiple lives, but we shall not pass this way again. That makes this a sacred time. It is always sacred when we wake up and ‘be here now.’ (Sacred is anything, or a time, set aside or dedicated to a particular purpose. It is entitled to reverence and respect.)

November 5-9 life may feel unfair, or unbalanced, despite its sacred nature. Mars, powerful now, squares Saturn, then Pluto. Saturn brings constraint, delay, discipline and hopefully patience to whatever it touches. With its square to ‘go get ‘em Mars, we may feel held back, impatient, or angry. These two forces bring awareness and consideration of boundaries, ours and others. Any combination of Mars and Saturn demands integrity and discipline for a good outcome. Then, connecting Mars to Pluto, it’s a passion-play! Watch the fireworks of power issues erupting in the world. Keep yours to a minimum.

It seems that much of this week’s intense, and turbulent energies preview what 2020 will offer. Consider it a practice run, a dress rehearsal for the big performance soon here. 2020 is seeding a new cycle, a gate into the Aquarian age. As a time of initiation, despite jumpy nerves and unpredictability, we want awareness to be open to wiser decision making, and greater empathetic action. Another player in this week’s surprises and chaos is the Sun’s opposition to Uranus, squaring the Quarter Moon. Hopefully, the Uranian flash of brilliance will see us through the dark mayhem toward new insights.

The great, and flamboyant Puerto Rican Astrologer, Walter Mercado, just died. His previous life was as a dancer, and he continued to express very theatrically, being loved for his exuberant costumes, Astrologic accuracy, AND great kindness. He made his work an art form on every level, signing each week with, “But above all, much much love.” I have decided to take up his mantra and sign with his reminder that no matter what the heavenly firmament provides, it always offers love, no matter how tough it appears. With the spirit-veil so thin, perhaps dear, wonderful Walter will visit me as I sign off with his spirit-signature;  “Pero sobre todo, Mucho mucho mucho amorSamantha Cameron

YOUR BIRTHDAY WEEK: This year may be a time your relationships communicate deeper truths, particularly your relationship with self. With Mercury Retro in Scorpio, your desire and ability to be more introspective will serve you well, especially if you are struggle with relationships. The Retrograde makes communication in general of prime importance. You are moving into deeper waters, swimming in more passionate seas. Wear those beautiful water wings with pride!

YOUR PRACTICE: The intensity of this week demands we get to the mat to release steam. Focus on standing still and breathing into your next Asana before you head in. Visualize the shape and energy of the pose before you embody it…a great practice for life, especially now as the circuits are hot and pushy. Taking time to contemplate mat-moves serves to not over-step boundaries during the day. Despite pushy turbulence, this week invites spirit, creativity and imagination to ply their harmonious-trade….especially Friday.
