Welcome to September’s Labors

THEMES

The summer’s self-reflection and introspection are giving way to worked-for-change, and rewarding innovation, especially thanks to Mars moving forward, ‘get up and go’ can finally GO!

It’s a time of consolidation and integration due to outer planet archetypes powerfully engaged with one another.

Highlights this week are: Saturn going direct on the 6th. New Moon in Virgo on Sun. 9th, a day that also sees Venus moving into Scorpio, home of the dark lord. Pay attention to physical and emotional well-being!

THE STORY

This week’s themes reflect the summer’s harvest, when we worked to separate inner wheat from chaff. The information we summer-struggled-over, now help us make better choices. It is Saturn’s turn to join the Mercury and Mars forward march, as he potently moves forward in his own sign of Capricorn. His principles of structure, reputation, and consolidation come into greater consciousness, and functionality, perhaps along with surprises, as Saturn trines Uranus.  Despite both planets being in stable earth signs, Uranus is never stable, having a habit of ‘Yikes!’ about all its transactions.  But goals and projects that have been frustratingly held back will re-boot, hopefully from a deeper, better perspective. We see ourselves being more effective, and daring.  Take a good hard look at goals to check if they remain in alignment with heart and spirit, as well as practical needs.

The Sun has moved into Virgo, reminding us to care for ourselves, and other’s wellbeing: physical, mental and emotional.  The New Moon in Virgo, on the 9th, is another reminder to be attentive to inner care. The ‘Dark of the Moon’ when Sun and Moon return to mate and give birth to a new cycle, is always an introspective opportunity to retreat, and recharge batteries, to re-set templates to plant seeds for greater illumination.  This is particularly true of this New Moon as it opposes Neptune while closely aspecting Uranus and Pluto. Neptune calls spirit to enter and support practical efforts, but be aware that illusion and confusion are easily part of this opposition. Uranus opens surprising doors to out of the box thinking, and Pluto, as ‘dark lord,’ transforms and regenerates.  These energies continue shaking our tree of stability, but are apropos to moving us onward.

If you long for healing, for whatever reason, attend to it now. Let this be part of your labor Day labors.  The planets are preparing the ground, our job is to till the soil. A regenerative Virgo New Moon, with strong outer planetary connections; Saturn moving forward, aligned with Chiron, the wounded healer; and Venus leaving lovely Libra to join the deeper forces of Scorpio, all make for a week of listening to our own authority as we take new action.  We open to healing, from releasing the past.  We move forward lighter, happier, stronger, and fall ready!

ON THE MAT:  It’s a marvelous week to put a personal spin on combining hatha with a Yin Practice.  Use your Virgo-dial to show you how best to better care for yourself- on the mat AND off the mat.  Backing up Virgo discretion is the diligence of Saturn to keep us in the habit. Their grounded practicality supports moving into new ideas, and patterns so we get it right.  As always, make time on the mat a healing journey.

YOUR BIRTHDAY WEEK:  Plan to move on with gusto, if not bravado, and new wisdom that comes from a deeper and wider connection to self.  Saturn, archetype of mastery and structure, will ring your bell all this year! You will also be in a working relationship with self-healing, which will change your relationships.  Venus is prominent as she reaches the last degrees of Libra, demanding you pay attention to partnering, and money-honey. The New Moon decrees a new birth, a new template of the year ahead, all things Virgo: habits, health, refinement, and ‘chooseyness.’ Become the Goddess, or God of your harvest!
