Wringing Out Dec. 29~Jan. 3

Psychologically and emotionally, the closing of a year is a time to wring out the old before ringing in the new.  Planetary energies supports this. We are in a relatively quiet moment between ‘eventful aspects,’ plus we have connections that help us not only think and act outside the box, but the Sun and Neptune are supporting our spiritual and creative compass.

Mercury, the planet of communicating and thinking, enters ‘zany and futuristic Aquarius on Friday-which also expands possibility through new ideas, but use it fast because it’s turning retrograde on the 5, and will return to traditional and conservative Capricorn for its three week ‘backward’ sojourn.

You know the ‘Merc. Retro’ drill by now: Back up all technology. Don’t buy computers/cars/I phones, etc, unless you have a great return policy. Take care to go over twice any important communication/contracts. It is a wonderful time of review and reconsideration so that we can move on differently. You may find it frustrating at times, especially with technology, but its quiet, subtle journey teaches patience, offers a guidance GPS of inner voices, and the ability for careful assessment. We may leap into 2016 late…but much more enlightened!

Mars has a voice at this time, especially when it enters Scorpio, Sun. 3. You may notice your energy has greater endurance, but is also more rash. You may find yourself filled with desire, and determined to fulfill its need. Mars is happy in Scorpio territory and therefore more powerful. Use your energy and commitments wisely as there are repercussions to the mis-use of this power engine. Mars remains in Scorpio until March 6.

In an about face of sorts~Venus departs Scorpio’s dark, murky waters today. You will notice a lighter touch to your relationships as she moves deeper into fiery, freedom-loving Sagittarius. We will be as interested in someone’s philosophy as their sexuality.

Practice this week:  We will wring out the old through twists and Pranayama. We will re-set intentions by chanting, which opens DNA change-possibilities. In creatively sequencing and linking Asana, we leave and release the old so we can move into an expanded structure. In this process, we let drop like a stone old habits weighing us down. We shall color in a New Year wish and pin it to an open heart then dance out the door with hope.
