Dive Dive!

When we are not looking, sometimes remarkable moments enter by the side door. When we surrender to process rather than outcome, we sometimes get lucky when the outcome revels and reveals the magic of its process. When we commit to risking, and intimacy, and sharing, what gets created far surpasses the sum of its parts.

Last Saturday’s first photo shoot was memorable in creating those energies, giving birth to the Daily Breath Journal that many of you through the last four years have been part of. It is because of you, my friends, my students, that Daily Breath was originally, and now because of your generosity, it is taking the next step to go out into the world.

It is exciting to view hoped for product and see what was present in the moment of its creating, become present again through photographs. You see the chaos, the patience that allowed magical moments to bubble up, the intimacy, vulnerability and joy. In short, the best of Sangha/community.

I was reminded again that creative chaos is like any other Practice, in that a large part of it is trusting it to develop beyond…well, chaos. You do all the prep you can. You steep and dream in hoped for results, you cultivate and care for those who are part of the journey, and then you throw the entire moment to the Gods and dive willy-nilly into the chasm, the mud, the sea…it matters not the medium. It’s all in the willingness to dive, offering up what lies between you and those Gods. Terrifying.

Alive to that kind of fear keeps us moving. If we don’t Practice and terrify ourselves at least once a year, those muscles for creative courage atrophy, and the sharp edges where chaos and magic live, fade.

Asana: First, melt into a pose where you feel more than competent, even powerful. Next, take that energy and move it into a pose that challenges, even scares you. Tackle it with the same feelings you had in the first pose and see if your results are different. Acknowledge the apprehension but don’t let it hold the upper hand.

Astrology and Yoga of Transformation

Consciousness changing lunations affect our personal bodies, emotions, and thought as well as those of the collective. It turns out- you do matter. Awareness changes the observed.

Perceiving, and interpreting, interior patterns of thinking offers the ability to align and prepare new pathways.

  • Summer Solstice, 6/21, is a potent moment to set intention, honor and accept life as the great unsolved mystery.

The themes are BIG! In order to utilize their gifts, call Imagination and trust as guides. This week’s consciousness flow was birthed at the New Moon on the thirteenth with the first of three consecutive super moons. This means the Moon is at perigee, closest to the earth, intensifying tides, tectonic and gravitational fields. The mind/body is affected by these strong vibrations. You may be tired as a result. The upcoming lunations, two of which are Eclipses, will, as usual, change the known playing field for many. It is best to prepare by clearing out, releasing, and completing old business.

That Gemini New Moon, accenting EI/Emotional Intelligence, may have created a rubric cube of riddles you are still working on. dailybreathjournal.com  It is a welcome mat to this week’s bizarre Neptunian emphasis. It turns Retrograde, boosting all things nebulous, compassionate, spiritual, lost, and artistic. The sea god is a guide to different levels of consciousness, invoking grater empathy as will as confusion, high imaginative levels, chaos, loss, music, painting, dance and Yoga. Neptune is particularly powerful as it is dwelling in its home sign of Pisces. Another watery emphasis will be the Sun moving into Cancer at the Solstice. Mercury is already in Cancer, and Jupiter is awash in Scorpio. Emotion and feeling connect us, bringing relationships into high focus.

There is a ‘partnering presence,’ not only from the watery flow, but Mars and Venus align with the nodes-’the path’ bringing up assumptions, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings from old wounds. It’s time to step back and re-evaluate relationship priorities. Before you blow, or try to take the high road, sit with the responsibility you have to yourself to re-interpret childhood thought patterns about love and loss. Uranus, god of change, in close aspect to the Moon and Sun, supports greater intuition and new perspectives. Is it time to let Uranus blow you out of the water of habitual pattern, offering new freedom to embrace the unknown?

THE PRACTICE THIS WEEK: Part of Yoga’s mastery is its ability to recreate a relationship with Self. This week this is especially a potent possibility. Use Asana as tools for the body to work its way inward toward the nature of your spirit, and deep emotions. Expand your understanding and use of Pranayama, as well as mantra, and mudra. Take invaluable time out to re-connect with yourself on the mat, even if you only lie in savasana. Honor showing up for you! Your body will thank you, and your mind will straighten out and fly right.

THIS WEEK’S BIRTHDAYS: This may be a year you win a prize for understanding and accepting yourself, which will change every facet of your life. You may find that not only relationships prosper, but that your creativity expands, and/or takes a different trajectory. Take time out to complete and toss the old, to listen to your intuitive body, to align with what is important. Then choose those three things/people of top priority. Give them your heart and soul.

Astrological Consultations:   It’s always a good time to look at one’s life from an objective, non-judgmental point of view. Especially when the dust flies and the future looks unfamiliar. If you are asking, “What is my genius, and how do I wish to use it?  How can I move deeply into my healing? When do I make moves for success?”  Then let us swim in your life together, in wonderful discovery.  Email  samcatcam@gmail.com
