Tis the hour for ‘Beginner’s Mind’ and the best action to take infusing an ever wiser ‘Beginner’s Mind’ is to ask thoughtful questions -primarily of yourself. This year, Memorial Day, with its suitcase of emotion, sits under a Gemini New Moon, an archetype asking for exploration, questioning, and mental activation. As with all New Moons, we set a new trajectory for the coming 28 days from cosmic energies birthing under the Sun’s embrace of the Moon. This is one of the most quixotic initiations that I have witnessed~ moving us from earth and water into fire and air.; from slow to fast, grounded to reactive. You can no longer be dopey! Time to rise, energize and explore unknown territory. This threshold asks we link ideas of sovereignty and self-worth with wit and wisdom.
Q- Ask what do I wish to give birth to?
Mercury, ‘Messenger of the Gods’ is the ruler of Gemini, the planet guiding lower mind (not less mind), He is embraced into the Sun/Moon merger, making him especially potent! Mercury essentially guides learning from birth through High School, when Jupiter takes over, lifting into higher mind. Not that Mercury stops at HS for he is responsible for communication, questioning, speech, ideas, as well as siblings, and transportation. Despite loving to chat and share ideas, this Gemini New Moon, like all New Moons tends to quiet reflection, re-set and mindfulness so that ideas can emerge for onward. I doubt we feel much of that as this lunation sits with four planets in the heat of Aires; Venus, Saturn, Neptune, and the healer, Chiron, plus Mars is now in the fire of Leo. BUT/AND the lunation sits under the fixed star Aldebaran, one of the four Royal Stars of Persia. The energy emanating off this great star infuses gifts of power, charisma, and success in communication. It manifests a sense of trust and worthiness to its owner. Q- Query how I can best integrate Aldebaran into this New Moon?
Despite, or because of the many polarities pushing and pulling, we are asked to see life in new light. We are requested to pull in memory, mindfulness, and yes- our madness to discover the true path. Yes, there are multiple energies challenging as well as supporting resolve and motive. The Aires warrior requires we grow more independent and ambitious, especially with Saturn newly moved into Aires. We grew used to Saturn submerged in the gentle waters of Pisces, which offered a quiet, patient, spiritual fortitude, where it was difficult to lead or accomplish as we wished. NOW-Saturn at 0 degrees Aires, says “watch your back! AND because Neptune, ruler of Pisces, God of the seas, is sitting right beside Saturn, it is complex! Saturn, changing guard, offers greater pressure and reckoning via assertion and accountability. Consider weaving your previous Pisces- Saturn bravely into this new demand for greater creativity and adventure.. Aires is about identity and becoming our own master/mistress. Saturn is about life lessons, boundaries, structures, achievement, and resilience. In short, mastering the maturity to lead.
Q- Ponder goals and gifts to absorb and use Saturn in Aires?
As Gemini loves asking questions as it considers multiple possibilities, combine your quirky with prophetic. Use this propitious moment to slow it down, enter the dark, and listen before heading out. We need a big inhale and exhale to release the chaos of the last few months as our Cosmic skies have showered us in hidden change, upheaval, and transformation. Open to greater visions. Populate your mission with healing and laughter, despite fear and anger. Be aware of Saturn’s shadow which tells us we aren’t good enough, or know enough, or undeserving. Listen to old mental habits flowing unconsciously through thoughts, undermining hope. Partner yourself into greater accountability- with kindness.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEW MOON WARRIORS! I wrote much of this for those born under the last Full Moon so you would not be expecting it at all for the New Moon- YET tis fascinatingly true in so many aspects due to the many planets now in fire, and Aldebaran’s presence. Expect your year ahead to be full of surprises, with greater understanding and use of your power. Re-birthing under any New Moon also brings in the need to pay greater attention to your intuition, and growth of new talent. It is surely a transformative year ahead, so believe in yourself, write the next best seller, create a podcast, sing a new song that connects us all, AND do what you love with greater passion, no matter the bumpy ride of shifting chaos.
